Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company is giving consumers a chance to drown their worries, hurl them away with a catapult, float them in a hot air balloon, or send them into orbit.

Northwestern Mutual, Milwaukee, has posted the worry disposal tool on a new marketing Web site, at Document Link

After site visitors use the tool to make their worries about matters such as illness and wealth accumulation go away, Northwestern Mutual will slip in information about how the company can help the visitors deal with the underlying concerns, the company says.

Northwestern Mutual says it also has set aside $1 million for nonprofit groups that deal with 4 common worries: Hunger, illness, natural disasters, and health problems.

Consumers can help allocate the charitable contributions by participating in a poll that will last until Dec. 31, the company says.
