American United Life Insurance Company has updated its term life insurance product line.

American United, Indianapolis, a unit of OneAmerica Financial Partners Inc., has added a second smoking class – a preferred smoking class – to the new American Protector Plus term life product.

The company also has reduced rates at most ages.

Along with the original 10-, 15- and 20-year terms, the updated product offers a 30-year level-premium term option.

American United updated the term product to reflect a shift to the new 2001 Commissioners Standard Ordinary tables, according to OneAmerica.

The shift also will lead to updates of the OneAmerica companies’ universal life, limited-pay whole life and variable universal life insurance product lines, OneAmerica says.
