“I like that our advisor takes me and my wife out to lunch or dinner once a quarter. Then he walks us through a review our current financial situation to make sure we are comfortable and knowledgeable, and will sometimes tell us about new things that we might consider adding to our portfolio. But, he doesn’t push or ?guilt’ us about buying a new product, which I hate. All in all, he does a really good job.”

“My advisor is great. She needs absolutely no improvement. She communicates well, is very friendly, and really knows her stuff. But, I guess if I had to say one thing she could do better, it would be to move her office a little closer to the city. It’s a long drive there, which is why we’ve been meeting at my house the last few times.”

“I used to have a financial advisor, but we parted ways about five years ago. I honestly felt like he was just sitting back and collecting commissions. He tried to get me to buy a number of different, ?exciting’ investments that sounded too good to be true – I think it was an annuity of some sort – and when I told him I wasn’t interested, he wouldn’t take no for an answer; or look for an alternative, for that matter. That’s definitely a deal-breaker for me.”

“I don’t really have a financial advisor, but I do use our CPA quite a bit. He’s also a family friend, so he’s helpful when it comes to talking about everything from our mortgage payments to taxes to retirement. I can’t think of anything he needs to improve on.”
