New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, D, today signed legislation to prevent life insurance companies from discriminating against individuals based on past or future foreign travel.
State Assemblyman Neil Cohen, D-Union, N.J., sponsored the bill A-1586.
The law based on the bill will prevent insurers from denying applications for coverage or increasing premiums based on consumers’ plans to travel to destinations such as Israel or Indonesia, Cohen says.
