Limited-benefit medical specialists have set up Ternian Insurance Group L.L.C.

Ternian, Phoenix, will develop and distribute health insurance products and other products aimed at people with no major medical insurance or too little major medical insurance, the organizers say.

Founders include several veterans of Star HRG, Phoenix, a pioneer in the “mini medical” plan market.

CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, acquired Star HRG from HealthMarkets Inc., North Richland Hills, Texas, in July 2006.

The president of Ternian is Benjamin Rozum, who was head of sales client, management and product development at Star HRG.

Ternian is in the process of analyzing the market for voluntary health insurance products and developing relationships with insurers and ancillary program providers, organizers say.
