Mutual Of Omaha Subsidiary To Update Medigap Line

United of Omaha Life Insurance Company says it hopes to be selling Medicare supplement policies in as many as 14 states by the end of the year, up from 3 states today.

United of Omaha, a unit of Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, Omaha, Neb., now sells Medigap coverage in Ohio, South Carolina and West Virginia.

Mutual of Omaha reports it will be adding new Medigap underwriting classes in some states to help lower rates for healthier applicants.

The company also is developing a two-person application, so that 2 clients in the same household can apply for coverage at the same time, and it will be offering a household discount for eligible applicants who live with a spouse, friend or sibling who already owns a Medicare supplement policy from Mutual of Omaha, United of Omaha or Mutual of Omaha’s United World Life Insurance Company affiliate.
