A unit of MetLife Inc. has published a paper discussing the steps schools and other nonprofit employers that sponsor 403(b) retirement plans need to take to comply with new federal regulations.

Internal Revenue Services regulations implementing the 403(b) plan requirements will take effect Jan. 1, 2009, and many employers appear to be concerned about the complexity of the new rules, according to experts at MetLife, New York.
