A firm that rates financial services company customer service efforts wants to help the companies handle Internet compliance issues.

Dalbar Inc., Boston, says it has started a compliance support services division that will conduct quick reviews of Web sites; monitor sites for unapproved changes, such as offers of unauthorized services; provide compliance training; and conduct compliance audits of field offices in remote locations.

Dalbar has hired Bruce Long, who recently retired from the post of president of Guardian Insurance and Annuity Company, a unit of Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, to be head of the new Web compliance division.

Long recently served as chair of the variable insurance products committee at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Washington, Dalbar says.
