A Massachusetts benefits consulting firm has acquired control over 2 nearby competitors.
Thorbahn Associates Inc., Quincy, Mass., has acquired the insurance division of Crosby Benefit Systems Inc., Newton, Mass., a health and welfare outsourcing and insurance brokerage firm.
Thorbahn also has assumed control of the Boston operations of ClearPoint L.P., Seattle, a national benefits consulting firm, Thorbahn says.
Harvey Crosby, president of Crosby, notes that his firm will continue to service the current insurance clients of Crosby Benefit Systems.
Thorbahn will be taking over all of the services that ClearPoint has been providing in Boston in the Boston market, Thorbahn says.
The ClearPoint employees in Boston now will work for Thorbahn, Thorbahn says.
