A player in the individual, family and small group markets is giving members in-network access to more doctors and hospitals.
Assurant Health, Milwaukee, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, says it now will offer members use of the preferred provider network set up by Great-West Healthcare, Greenwood Village, Colo.
The Great-West network includes 578,000 doctors and ancillary providers, and it is especially strong in areas such as Denver, rural Colorado, central and northern Florida, and Austin, Texas.
The agreement took effect for small group Tuesday, and it will take effect for individual medical Feb. 1, Assurant Health says.
