A large insurer has announced changes to a life policy that covers groups with 2 to 9 lives.

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, says it now offers groups with 2 to 5 lives up to $25,000 in coverage on a guaranteed issue basis, and groups of 6 to 9 lives up to $50,000 in coverage on a guaranteed issue basis.

Guardian also is offering microgroups access to the LifeAssist critical income option as a standard feature. The product can protect insureds against severe or catastrophic disabilities.
