A foundation affiliated with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota recently awarded $1.1 million in 2007 grants.

The Eagan, Minn., foundation gave the biggest grant, for $150,000, to the Minnesota Early Learning Foundation, St. Paul, Minn.

The program provides home-based parent-mentoring to improve learning readiness for babies and children ages 3 and under.

The foundation now is accepting letters of inquiry for 2008 funding through its “Healthy Together” program, which supports organizations that serve immigrants and refugees.
