Hartford Financial Services Inc. once again is sponsoring a major winter sports gathering for people with disabilities.
The latest 1-week Hartford Ski Spectacular is scheduled to start Sunday at a resort in Breckenridge, Colo.
Organizers of the event expect to attract about 800 participants, including U.S. and British soldiers who have been injured in Iraq and Afghanistan, and disabled emergency response personnel from around the United States, according to Hartford Financial, Hartford.
The injured veterans will get special rehabilitation sports instruction, Hartford Financial says.
Hartford Financial notes that it also is the founding sponsor of the U.S. Paralympics.
One special event will be a program aimed at instructors who want to help students with disabilities learn how to ski, or how to ski better.
