Former Regulator To Lead Life Settlement Firm

Life Settlement Providers L.L.C. has hired R. Steven Orr to be president.

Orr was the insurance commissioner in Maryland from January 2006 to May 2007.

Orr also has worked as chief information officer of Universal Underwriters Group, Schaumburg, Ill., a unit of Zurich Financial Services Group, Zurich.

Orr has a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and a master’s degree in business from the University of Virginia. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter professional designation.
