Aviva To Offer Savings For Healthier Lifestyles

Aviva USA is setting up a new a wellness program.

Aviva USA, Des Moines, Iowa, a unit of Aviva P.L.C., London, says a new Wellness for Life Program will offer discounts on the cost of insurance for customers who meet “wellness-oriented criteria.”

Clients may be able to earn discounts by having regular checkups and by maintaining their weight within a range established when they buy their policies, Aviva USA says.

Although clients will be responsible for becoming and staying eligible for the discounts, the amount of savings will be based on improvements in life expectancies for all Wellness for Life program participants, Aviva USA says.

The program also will offer access to a nurse line services and other services from Mayo Clinic Health Solutions.

Aviva says it plans to begin selling the Wellness for Life Program on a limited basis this year and to expand nationally in early 2008.
