The North Carolina State Health Plan has hired SHPS Inc. to work with plan members who have chronic health problems.
The North Carolina State Health Plan covers about 628,000 teachers, state employees, retirees, lawmakers, state university and community college personnel, state hospital staff members and dependents, according to SHPS, Louisville, Ky.
The North Carolina plan will start offering SHPS case management services through the NC HealthSmart program Jan. 1, 2008.
