The creator of Mary Katherine Gallagher and other popular Saturday Night Live characters is the new spokeswoman for a national life insurance campaign.
Actress and comedian Molly Shannon will talk about her family’s financial struggles as the face and voice of Life Insurance Awareness Month, an industry-wide campaign headed by the nonprofit LIFE Foundation, Arlington, Va., kicking off in September.
Shannon was just 4 years old when she was in a car accident that took the lives of her 33-year-old mother, her cousin and younger sister.
Along with Molly, her father and older sister survived, but her father was badly injured in the accident and unable to work for years.
