A managed care company has added dozens of “convenient care” clinics to its provider network.
Aetna Inc., Hartford, is allowing members to use the 56 Take Care Health Clinics established by Walgreens Company, Deerfield, Ill.
The clinics now operate in Chicago, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and St. Louis. Walgreens hopes to have more than 300 additional clinics running in Walgreens clinics by the end of 2008.
Certified nurse practitioners at the clinics can provide vaccinations for patients 18 months and older and treat the patients for common conditions such as influenza and skin conditions.
