A unit of Starmount Life Insurance Company will be offering group dental and vision plan customers help with insuring employees’ ears.

AlwaysCare Benefits will work with Ear Professionals International Corp., City of Industry, Calif., to sell an insured hearing benefit rider with existing AlwaysCare dental and vision plans, according to AlwaysCare, which is part of Starmount, Baton Rouge, La.

The rider will provide access to a network of 3,400 audiologists and other hearing experts, along with discounts on hearing aids and telephone access to experts who can answer hearing-related questions, AlwaysCare says.

Workers and dependents who have the rider can get annual hearing screenings, and those who appear to have hearing problems can get more advanced tests, AlwaysCare says.

When an employer elects the hearing benefit coverage, the benefit will be included in AlwaysCare dental coverage for children at no additional premium cost, and the hearing benefit also will be offered as a rider along with AlwaysCare vision-only coverage, AlwaysCare says.
