An insurer has introduced a new family of universal life insurance policies.

Columbus Life Insurance Company, a unit of Western & Southern Financial Group, Cincinnati, has started marketing the Explorer Plus Universal Life, the Indexed Explorer Plus Universal Life, and the Voyager Universal Life products.

The indexed version of the policy links policy growth to credits linked in part to the performance of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Composite Stock Price Index, excluding dividends or the S&P 500 stock index.

The Voyager version offers guaranteed death benefits.

Columbus reports that it has added a “Super Preferred” underwriting class for the new UL policies.

The Super Preferred class and other new underwriting classes are available on all 3 new Columbus Life UL products, the company says.
