Elder Health Inc. is changing its name to Bravo Health.

Elder Health, Baltimore, says it adopted the Bravo brand name last year for its Medicare Advantage health plans and senior prescription drug plans.

The company now sells the Medicare plans in four mid-Atlantic states as well as in Washington, and it offers Medicare prescription drug plans in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

In January, the company announced plans to acquire Senior Partners, a 22,000-member Medicare Advantage plan, from Health Partners Inc., Philadelphia.

Elder Health hopes to close on the Senior Partners deal Aug. 1st, the same day its name change takes effect.
