Assurant Health, Milwaukee, has announced the introduction of ExpressYes, giving qualified consumers the ability to apply for and secure Individual Medical insurance coverage immediately.
ExpressYes was developed to provide a consumer-friendly alternative to the traditional application process that usually involves filling out lengthy, complicated forms (some with more than 200 questions) and can take 4-6 weeks (or longer) for approvals.
In contrast to the voluminous paperwork required for typical applications, the new Assurant Health process has just 17 simple questions. And instead of weeks or months of anxious waiting, consumers find out right in their agent’s office whether they qualify for coverage. This is fully underwritten major medical insurance. Even applications that are not instantly approved are quickly processed so that most consumers will get answers in less than two days.
“Instant approvals are common for auto and life policies. We believe that a quick response, providing the consumer with peace of mind, is just as critical in Individual Medical insurance as it is for other types of coverage,” says Deborah Kramer, Assurant Health Senior Vice President of Marketing.
“For agents, it is the next generation of our online application and underwriting process, because it allows them to increase their throughput and focus their efforts on selling, not paperwork,” says Steve Cain, Vice President of Underwriting at Assurant Health.
ExpressYes is especially valuable as a tool in helping agents to generate more sales volume, particularly among healthier segments of the population. It also benefits agents by:
- Saving time and enabling them to be more responsive to clients.
- Giving them greater control over the entire application and underwriting process.
- Quickly capturing sales opportunities and greatly reducing further shopping by consumers.
- Enhancing their ability to provide prompt, professional service.
ExpressYes will be available in all 43 states, and Washington D.C., where Assurant Health offers Individual Medical insurance (excluding Oregon). For more information on Assurant Health insurance products and services, please visit www.assuranthealth.com.
