Only 36% of U.S. consumers know what a Web-based personal health record is, and only 11% of the consumers who are familiar with PHRs have them.

Researchers at Aetna Inc., Hartford, and the Financial Planning Association, Denver, have published those figures in a summary of results from a recent survey of 2,185 U.S. adults ages 18 and older.

Aetna and the FPA are mounting a campaign to promote the use of PHRs through their health financial education Web site, at Document Link.
