Personnel Changes: Colonial, Penn Mutual, Others

Colonial Supplement Insurance has hired Susan Kenney Cotter to be vice president of marketing.

Cotter previously was vice president of project management and planning at the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, Washington, according to Colonial Supplement, Columbia, S.C., a unit of Unum, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Cotter has a bachelor's degree in Spanish and international studies from the University of South Carolina and a master's degree in international policy studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

In other personnel news:

- The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa., has named I. David Cohen to be the national spokesperson for its Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow and Financial Services Specialist designation programs.

Cohen, a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Park Ridge, Ill., has written books about insurance sales and now is an adjunct professor of insurance and practice management at the American College.

Cohen holders the LUTCF, Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations. He has taught and moderated LUTC, CLU and ChFC classes for 30 years.

- Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Horsham, Pa., has hired Stephen Schaack to be a regional annuity specialist in its sales support organization.

Schaack, who will handle the region that includes Arizona, California and Hawaii, previously was a regional vice president at John Hancock, Boston, a unit of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto.

Schaack holds the Certified Fund Specialist and Certified Senior Consultant professional designations.
