New York Life has a new president. Effective July 1, Ted Mathas will take the helm from Fredrick Sievert, who’s retiring. Mathas will continue his role as chief operating officer, New York Life says in a statement. As COO Mathas is responsible for the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, which oversees all domestic and international business operations including life insurance, retirement income, investments, long-term care insurance and related businesses, as well as the company’s career agency system, according to New York Life.
