A large insurer is supplementing its accident insurance benefits program with services that could help employees cope with financial crime.

CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, says its new identity theft program will provide access to counselors, help in reporting identity theft to credit-reporting agencies, assistance with placing a fraud alert on credit reports and a variety of other services.

The program also can provide a $1,000 cash advance to help insureds who suffer financial shortfalls as a result of suffering from identity theft while traveling, CIGNA says.
