Destiny Health has started selling health coaching services to employers that already offer health coverage.
Destiny, Chicago, is a U.S. arm of Discovery Holdings Ltd., Sandton, South Africa, the company that developed the modern health account system.
Destiny has been selling the Vitality wellness measurement, monitoring and coaching program with its health plans for years.
Destiny now is selling the Vitality program as a stand-alone program for larger employers, the company says.
The program, which includes regular screenings for cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure levels, can cut members’ claims by an average of about 15% over a 3-year period, Destiny says.
