An insurer has published a new financial planning booklet for consumers.

The MetLife Mature Market Institute, Westport, Conn., a unit of MetLife Inc., New York, has joined with the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement, Washington, to publish “What Today’s Woman Needs to Know: A Retirement Journey,” a free publication that covers topics such as investment options, protection of assets, preparing for post-retirement health care costs, and strategies for using home equity.

The booklet also includes a retirement savings and planning checklist. The checklist provides specific recommendations for women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s.
