An insurer has moved the main offices of a major business-to-business distribution operation.

AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, New York, a unit of AXA S.A., Paris, is relocating 150 wholesale life distribution unit employees to a new office in Farmington, Conn., from the current offices in Hartford and in Simsbury, Conn.

AXA Equitable has signed a 10-year lease for use of 42,000 square feet of office space in the Farmington building.

The company started off with just 30 wholesale life distribution employees in July 2004, when it got into the wholesaling business after acquiring MONY Group Inc., New York.
