Golden Rule To Sell Health Plans Through Self-Employed Group

The Freelancers Union is offering its members in 30 states access to individual health insurance coverage.

The organization announced it is offering a range of high-deductible and health savings account plans to many of its 50,000 members through Golden Rule Insurance Company, a unit of United HealthGroup Inc., Minnetonka, Minn.

The Freelancers Union, part of the nonprofit organization Working Today, New York, provides benefits and services to self-employed and independent workers.

The new health plans will be available to FU members in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
