Although 61% of workers say they see a connection between maintaining a healthy lifestyle and controlling insurance cost increases, only 31% say they are changing their lifestyle to improve their health status.

Researchers at Watson Wyatt Worldwide, Washington, have published those figures in a summary of results from a recent survey of 2,099 U.S. workers.

About 27% of workers are considering making changes to improve their health status, but only 37% said they get an annual physical, and only 42% said they try to control health expenditures by choosing lower-cost drug options, researchers report.
