International Insurance Pioneer Dies

Robert Clements, 89, has died.

Clements co-founded Clements & Company, Washington, a pioneer in the market for international insurance coverage, with M. Juanita Guess in 1947.

A son, Jon Clements, is now chairman and chief executive of Clements & Company, which operates as Clements International, and a daughter, Patience Clements, is a member of the company’s board.

Robert Clements had a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a law degree from Georgetown University.
