A life insurer is renewing its sponsorship of the Houston Astros’ “Saves for Children” program.

AIG American General, Houston, a unit of American International Group Inc., New York, says it again will donate $500 to the Astros in Action Foundation every time an Astros pitcher earns a save.

The foundation will give the money to Children at Risk, Houston, a nonprofit group that lobbies for government efforts to help children.

The Saves for Children campaign raised $11,000 in 2005 and about $20,000 in 2006, according to AIG American General.
