NAIFA Withdraws Local Association Proposal

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors has shelved the idea of letting members decide whether to join local NAIFA chapters.

In January, leaders of NAIFA, Falls Church, Va., proposed streamlining the organization by permitting members to opt out of local chapters. The members would have still had to join their state chapters.

NAIFA President John Davidson now says the NAIFA board has voted unanimously to withdraw the local-group-optional proposal.

The proposal “was taken off the table based on the feedback received from the across the federation,” Davison writes in a letter to NAIFA members posted on the NAIFA Web site.

NAIFA will provide a more detailed update later, Davison says.
