Firm Tightens Focus On Cutting Health Costs

Meritain Health Inc. has set up a cost management strategies department.

Meritain, Amherst, N.Y., helps employers manage self-funded health plans.

The new department will look for ways to help employers cut costs and use programs such as wellness programs to stabilize expenses, Meritain says.

The department will employ 31 full-time staffers in Meritain’s Amherst, Baltimore and Minneapolis offices.
