The Northwestern Mutual Foundation has updated its financial education Web site, Document Link

The site, established in 1997 with help from the National Council on Economic Education, New York, now has a section that talks about the concept of “safeguarding,” or using insurance to protect homes, cars and health, according to the foundation, which is an affiliate of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee.

The updated site also includes tools that teachers can use to teach children about budgeting, handling credit and investing in the stock market, Northwestern Mutual says.
