Golden State Carrier Updates Producer Contracts

Blue Shield of California says it is trying to make life easier for brokers and consultants.

California Blue, San Francisco, has revised its producer contracts.

Producers now can use one agreement to sell all products offered by California Blue and its Blue Shield of California Life and Health Insurance Company affiliate, the company says.

“The updated contract…maintains current commission rates, schedules and previous vesting provisions,” California Blue says.

The new contracts will cover all lines of business and incorporate advertising arrangements and business associate agreements into a single document, the company says.

California Blue notes that it has eliminated all previously required production minimums from the current contract agreement.
