A Mid-Atlantic managed care company has signed a large client.

The West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency has agreed to use Coventry Health Care Inc., Bethesda, Md., to provide Medicare Advantage health coverage for 35,000 retirees starting July 1.

Coventry already serves 80,000 members of commercial plans, Medicare plans and Medicaid programs in West Virginia, the company says.

The new Coventry West Virginia retiree program will include access to a 24-hour nurse line, voluntary disease and case management programs, free health risk assessments and fitness programs, Coventry says.
