The former chairman of American International Group Inc., New York, will be helping large employers run self-funded health plans.

Maurice Greenberg is the chairman of C.V. Starr & Company Inc., New York. C.V. Starr has formed a new subsidiary, Starr Global Accident & Health Insurance Agency L.L.C., Greenwich, Conn., to underwrite employer stop loss insurance on behalf of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, Warren, N.J., through a network of program managers.

Peter McGuire is the president of C.V. Starr’s new stop-loss unit, and stop-loss insurance “is the first of many products” the unit will bring to market, C.V. Starr says.

Chubb will continue to write employer stop loss insurance through its independent agents and brokers, Chubb says.
