National Retirement Partners Inc. is in the process of acquiring Oberlin Financial Corp.

NRP, Capistrano Beach, Calif., is a company that is trying to build a large network of independent retirement advisors.

Oberlin Financial, Bryan, Calif., is a full-service broker-dealer.

The price of the deal was not available, but NRP says it hopes to close on the acquisition by March 15.

Oberlin Financial can support the sale of stocks, bonds, government bonds, options, real estate investment trusts and mutual funds as well as fixed and variable insurance products, NRP says.

Oberlin Financial also has 2 major clearing contracts along with a registered investment advisor operation that can allow the firm’s representatives to provide fee-based financial advisory and asset management services, NRP says.

NRP member firms that shift to Oberlin Financial will be able to offer fiduciary responsibility for plan sponsor investment advice, dealer concession payouts, rollover services for job changers and retirees, and retirement plan compliance supervision, NRP says.
