Members of the Life Insurance Council of New York Inc. have elected Mitchell Politzer to be chairman this year.
LICONY, Albany, N.Y., represents 48 New York insurers, 16 associate members and 14 allied professional firms.
Politzer is president of First Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. of New York, Suffern, N.Y., a unit of UNIFI Mutual Holding Company, Cincinnati.
He also has served as the first chairman of LICONY’s community investment committee.
Politzer has a bachelor’s degree from Long Island University and a master’s degree in business from St. John’s University.
Politzer succeeds Dennis Manning, president of the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, who is now LICONY’s immediate past chairman.
