Amos Scion Rises At Georgia Company

Aflac Inc. has named Paul Amos II, the grandson of company founder Paul Amos, to be president of its main operating unit, Aflac.

Amos, 32, also will continue to be chief operating officer of Aflac U.S., according to Aflac Inc., Columbus, Ga.

Amos began working for Aflac in the investor relations customer call center when he was 15, according to Georgia Trend magazine. He has been the COO of Aflac U.S. since February 2006.

Amos has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University and a master’s degree in business from Emory University. He also has a law degree from Tulane University.

Aflac Inc. has large supplemental health insurance operations in Japan, and Amos reported in the Georgia Trend article that he has the ability to hold conversations in Japanese.
