In late October, Fidelity Investments unveiled a retirement guidance tool for retail investors called myPlan designed to help investors start saving for retirement, and those currently saving to create a more detailed plan or start saving more.

The myPlan Snapshot tool is a calculator that estimates the amount of money individuals may need to reach their retirement savings goals, while myPlan Retirement Quick Check allows investors to quickly create a plan that estimates how much monthly income they will need to meet their retirement goal and the progress they’ve made with their current savings strategy, according to Fidelity.

Spokesperson Jenny Engle says Fidelity will refer investors using myPlan to independent advisors if they need help with tax preparation or other planning services.
