State Employees’ Credit Union is expanding its insurance sales efforts.

SECU, Raleigh, N.C., says it will be selling term life insurance through a network of 800 salaried, licensed insurance agents operating in its 202 branch offices.

SECU began selling term life to members through a call center in March 2000.

The call center operation has sold about 3,000 policies with a total coverage amount of about $600,000, or about $200,000 per policy, according to SECU.
