Personnel Changes: Aflac, MassMutual, Others

Aflac Inc. has hired Jeffrey Herbert to be senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Ronald Kirkland, a senior vice president who has been in charge of sales and marketing, will continue to be the sales director, according to Aflac, Columbus, Ga.

Herbert has been a marketing executive at the Coca-Cola Company, Atlanta. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in business from the University of Houston.

In other personnel news:

- Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass., has promoted Melissa Millan to senior vice president of product management, from corporate vice president at the disability insurance and long term care insurance operations.

Millan has a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College.

- HealthMarkets Inc., North Richland Hills, Texas, has promoted Michael Colliflower to executive vice president.

Colliflower, who continues to be the company’s general counsel and chief compliance officer, has been a senior vice president.

Colliflower has a bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher College and a law degree from Wake Forest University.

- The fund services arm of BISYS Group Inc., Roseland, N.J., has hired David Giannone and Joseph Miskel Jr. to be vice presidents of global business development.

Giannone, who will work in New York, has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Hofstra University.

Miskel, who will be based in Dresher, Pa., has a bachelor’s degree from Rowan University and a master’s degree in business from Fordham University.

- The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based behavioral health arm of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, has hired Kay Hall to be vice president of sales.

The unit also has hired Nina Boone to be vice president of sales and account management and Nelia Infante to be marketing director.
