A large managed care company will be giving more members access to personal health advisors.
CIGNA HealthCare, Bloomfield, Conn., a unit of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, will be opening its CIGNA Health Advisor health coaching program to plan sponsors with 200 or more employees starting Jan. 1, 2007.
CIGNA has been offering the program only to groups with 5,000 or more employees and to smaller groups that offer health savings accounts or health reimbursement arrangements.
The coaches can help members meet wellness goals, make treatment decisions and cope with health care bureaucracy, CIGNA says.
