A Nevada City, Calif., state court judge has entered a judgment dismissing a former policyholder's lawsuit against a health insurer.

The policyholder, David Henderson, has accused the MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company, a unit of a company now known as HealthMarkets Inc., North Richland Hills, Texas, of misleading him and his wife about the nature of its individual health insurance products.

California Superior Court Judge Dover has knocked down all counts in the suit, according to HealthMarkets.

"From the beginning, the company has maintained that this lawsuit was unfounded," Andre Cronthall, a lawyer representing HealthMarkets, says in a statement about the dismissal. "We are pleased that the court has agreed with our position that MEGA sold its product in a fair and clear manner and that MEGA lived up to its obligations."

Representatives for the Hendersons were not immediately available for comment.
