Planned Administrators Inc. will be offering “mini med” health coverage for employers with 500 or more part-time or hourly workers.

Planned Administrators, Columbia, S.C., is getting the coverage for the new EssentialCare program from BCS Insurance Company, a unit of BCSI Holdings Inc., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

BCSI is a for-profit property-casualty insurer owned by U.S. Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies.

The EssentialCare program will provide access to preferred provider network discounts and a nurse line as well as small amounts of medical insurance, Planned Administrators says.
