The Financial Planning Association is giving the 2006 P. Kemp Fain Jr. Award to Bill Carter.

The FPA, Denver, gives the award to an individual member who has made outstanding contributions to the financial planning profession.

Carter, president of Carter Financial Management in Dallas, Texas, is a strong supporter of his alma mater, Texas A&M University, and he serves on the board of the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and the Baylor Oral Health Foundation. He is a past chair of the Foundation for Financial Planning, Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, CFP International Council and the International Association for Financial Planning, an FPA predecessor organization.
