There have been several comings and goings at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Kathleen Casey was confirmed by the Senate on June 15 to replace the departing Cynthia Glassman as an SEC Commissioner. Glassman is an economist; Casey, 40, comes to the SEC from the Senate, where she most recently served as staff director and counsel for the Senate Banking Committee. Previously, she was chief of staff to Alabama Republican Senator Richard Shelby, who chairs the Banking Committee. Commission Chairman Christopher Cox also appointed Lori Schock as the Acting Director of the Commission’s Office of Investor Education and Assistance (OIEA). Schock, deputy director of OIEA, succeeds longtime SEC staffer Susan Ferris Wyderko. n The Financial Planning Association has named Lida D. Citro?<<n as managing director of marketing and communications, with oversight of all FPA communications, marketing, and public relations efforts. Citro?<<n most recently served as director of investor relations for Jefferson Economic Council in Golden, Colorado.
AIG Financial Advisors, Inc. has named Lisa Bredeson as senior VP and COO of the broker/dealer, reporting to president and CEO James Cannon. Bredeson was most recently VP of the Institutional Services Group of Fifth Third Bank.
